The focus of this training will be to encourage and equip people to practice self-care regularly to be the best version of themselves. We examine the possible causes and the impact of unresolved trauma on caregivers and the challenges it presents in the context of a caregiving profession. We investigate signs of compassion fatigue and burnout, which have a negative impact on the quality care of life, as well as rising rates of depression and stress amongst caregivers. We look at risk factors and introduce proactive prevention strategies. Finally, we discuss the importance of reflective supervision and reflective practice and its role in maintaining trusting, positive work relationships.
